Hi.
Here’s something I’ve been thinking about for awhile now. As a full-time Internet Marketer I get plenty of ads that come into my email accounts. If you do any advertising online at all I’m sure you’re getting ads, too
One note I received from someone’s personal contact list stated that they were sick and tired of all the hyped-up ads they receive. Then they went on to tell their list why their opportunity was great, and that anything that sounds exciting at all (or hyped up) was horrible and should be avoided at all costs — no matter what opportunity it was. They went on to say that exclamation marks, caps, and anything written with excitement was unprofessional.
I totally disagree with that. If something comes across my desk without some kind of hype I don’t even consider it. Let me explain why (please hear me out).
First, hype can mean different things. It can mean “deception”, which (of course) I do not like.
But … hype in ads is usually just excitement — something that will cause the reader to do something fast (like join the opportunity) instead of waiting.
I hate to tell you, but if you can’t stir your reader up enough to cause action you won’t get many sales. You are competing with 1000s of ads every single day. Yours “has” to stand out. It just has to
Let me give you an example of two different ways I “could” advertise my #1 money-maker. If you are on my contact list you’ve seen my ads on nPro. I’m so hyped-up on nPro I don’t think I “can” write a boring ad for it, but let me try
I’m going to give you two examples for ads. The subject line in the email you’d receive for the ad will be the top line. “You” decide which one would cause you to take action fast.

One of those ads is hyped-up. The other isn’t. First, imagine your inbox. You have a list of ads that just came in. Which top line would grab you enough to make you open it (even if you were busy)?
I would definitely open the second one. I know that most people want (and need) help building their downilne. Plus since I was pulled in by the subject I know I can also pull others in by a similar one.
So now you know my take on “hype”. I hate deception just like you do, but I am moved to action by excitement. When I join something I scan the payplan and pull out only the things that will cause fast action by those who read my ads.
I want you to join NOW — not just file it away and forget about it
Take care,
Paula
